Wal-Mart took the industry by surprise earlier, when it cut prices on more than a dozen hot toys, in order to attract customers to their store (and other aisles). Toys are Us countered with its coupon book, cutting the price gap, and hoping its wider selection will make its store the destination for holiday buyers.
8 8099 1988 More hospital emergency departments are offering competitive pricing to regain business lost to free-standing clinics. One Iowa emergency dept. cut charges for treating a sore throat to $30 from $67, but its charge for CPR went from $150 to $400.
